Do you have a passion for social justice? Do you want to help make your community, and the world, a better place?
The Community Leaders Fellowship can help you apply your passions and discern a meaningful career path. Join our program for hands-on experience with one of JP NET’s community-based projects -- such as the Boston Food Forest, Time Exchange, or Event Series. We also provide personalized career coaching and tailored support.
You’ll develop versatile and tangible skills such as project development, communications, writing, public speaking, event planning, and organizing. And you’ll work with cutting-edge thinkers and doers who are reshaping our community and our world to meet today’s challenges, such as inequality, climate change, and social isolation.
Diversity is a core strength of our program. Fellows come from all over Boston, and are diverse in terms of race, class, age, and sexual orientation.
How It Works
The purpose of the CLF is to help you develop essential leadership skills through hands-on experience and practical career planning. As a Fellow, you spend eight hours per week working on one of JP NET’s projects. You’ll make substantial, concrete contributions to improve the community.
You will receive several one-on-one Coaching sessions and develop a Career Plan informed by a holistic assessment of your “patterns,” gifts, and interests. Lastly, you will participate in five “Fellows Support Sessions” with the full cohort of Fellows.

“I want to find a job that is morally responsible. The CLF helped me see what the options are for 'ethical' work, and helped me solidify my plan to work with technology in the non-profit sector.”
- Byron Garcia
“In just two hours, my CLF Coach, Carlos Espinoza-Toro, walked me through the complex morass of my entire 33-year life experience and distilled it into concrete, actionable steps to get what I want out of my life and career. There is no way you can work with him and not have some sort of self-revelation.”
- Allison Meierding
The CLF is supported by donations from neighbors like you! Together, we're reaching individuals who usually get excluded from the fold of leadership and whose participation is critical to building the society we want and need. Help us ensure that this program continues into the future by donating today.
The CLF believes that every person has a role to play in creating the future we want. Let us help you find yours.
